As the holidays approach I am reminded of how thankful I am for my parents and John’s parents. I look forward to seeing each one of them and excited that we will all be together at the same time for Thanksgiving Day! One thing that is so important to receive from both sets of parents when you are married is respect for you and your mate as a couple. Our parents have always respected and honored John’s position of authority over me as his wife. They are no longer our authorities. Each one of our parents are excited about the things we are excited about and we have never felt less than supported by them as we pursue what we believe to be God’s plan for our life. We are able to talk about the Lord with them and often have good, thought-provoking conversation. On a lighter note, John’s dad, Paul, makes the best homemade cinnamon rolls with amazing cream cheese frosting. This is just one thing that adds something special to our time together as a family.
